(Okotoks) Council supports dedicated water consultant

Okotoks town councillors unanimously approved a proposal to hire a consultant who will be tasked with finding the water to supply future development.

Council approved a motion by Coun. Florence Christophers to hire a dedicated water consultant, just a few hours after voting to annex land for 30 years of growth and rejecting a pipeline from Calgary.

Christophers said the Town needs help to find enough water for Okotoks to grow.

While a scientific and technical background would be important, she said she wants someone with the leadership and initiative to see potential solutions through to completion. ... Click here to read more.
