Epcor Utilities Inc. of Edmonton released its latest financial results Friday, reporting a net loss of $20 million on revenues of $424 million for the three months ending June 30.
Epcor, which is owned by the City of Edmonton, operates electrical transmission and distribution networks, water and wastewater treatment facilities in Alberta, British Columbia, Arizona and New Mexico.
“Our overall results show a loss but that was due to a non-cash loss recognized on the sale of a portion of our interest in Capital Power in the quarter,” Epcor president and CEO Don Lowry stated in a press release. “We initiate such sales from time to time as part of our ongoing sell-down strategy but they are not reflective of normal operations.” ...
